Bio: Dr. Rohit Borooah began his early career as a Design Engineer at NITS Mirza, an engineering college in Assam, where he played a key role in developing innovative solutions to address local challenges such as flooding. Dr. Borooah then went on to pursue his postgraduation at IISc Bangalore, where he developed a prototype incinerator for the clean combustion of sanitary napkin waste. Following this, he completed a Ph.D. and spent a year as a postdoctoral researcher at Unibz, Italy, where his research aimed at developing deep learning algorithms to predict the performance of combined heat and power (CHP) systems operating on syngas from biomass gasification. Having then made the transition from academia to industry, today Dr. Borooah works as a Market Analyst at Uniper Global Commodities, a division of Uniper SE, one of Europe's largest energy companies. His primary focus is on green fuel commodities targeting decarbonization of all sectors including maritime and aviation. Dr. Borooah enjoys the challenges that comes with navigating the complex landscape of Europe’s fast developing energy markets. He is passionate about contributing towards advancing sustainable energy solutions to accelerate energy transition to Net-Zero.
